Hermitian Forms Meet Several Complex Variables: Changes
May 19th 2026 edition:
- List the new mirror site (github.io).
- After Theorem 1.2.2 (the preparation theorem), the degree is
correctly listed as \(k\text{.}\)
- On Theorem 1.2.7, in the Furthermore it should say for every \(p \in
U'\text{.}\)
- There was a sign error in equation (2.20).
- In Example 2.4.5, it is \(\theta\) fixed, not \(\alpha\) fixed.
- In D'Angelo's lemma 2.5.5, the terms in the series for \(G\) should, of
course, be \(g_\alpha\text{.}\)
- In proof of Theorem 2.6.5, the \(X\) is the variety through \(p\text{.}\)
Also correctly use \(\psi\) instead of \(\varphi\) in the end of the proof.
- In equation (3.7), the index k now correct runs from 1 to \(m\text{.}\)
- In section 3.5, on page 47, change the \(n+1\) to \(N+1\) as the number
of components.
- Minor spelling, style, typo fixes.
March 15th 2026 edition:
- In the proof of Theorem 1.1.6, the vector \(v\) now correctly
appears outside the definition of a line as a set.
- In Example 2.3.3, the coefficients of \(f_2\) and \(g\)
were not conjugated as they should be.
- In the proof of Proposition 2.5.2, when \(M\) is used, change it to read
\(\sqrt{M} \) not \(M.\)

July 23rd 2020 edition:
- On page 57, \(\frac{m-n}{2}\) should be \(\max \{ \frac{m-n}{2} , 0 \}\)
- Theorem 1.2.7 requires the hypothesis that \(f^{-1}(0)\) has no
limit points on \(U' \times \partial D.\)
- Mention that \(\beta\) are the rows and \(\alpha\) columns in section 2.3
- More explicitly give the computation in Example 2.3.1.
- Fix some typos in equation 2.20, the bars in second line should go
all the way across and \(\varphi(0) = p\) just above.

April 8th 2014 edition:
- Update references, fix reference labels.
- Fix the Cauchy estimate inequality, it is only the point, not the norm on
the left unless a smaller set would be taken.
- Slightly update the note in the beginning.

- Include local parametrization theorem for varieties without proof,
and add exercise related to it.
- Fix statement of Theorem 1.2.7.

- Fixed up hyperlinks, which are now underlined as well and have larger
targets to click on.
- Added a bunch of references, more will come in the future sometime.
- Added some clarifications in places.
- Lots of spelling, grammar, and stylistic fixes.
- Using newest texlive so producing PDF 1.5.
- Using the microtype package with pdflatex to use microtypography. It
really looks wonderful and pdflatex does all the work for you.
